Main Building Leo Vroman, secondary school
Gouda, The Netherlands
2011-2014
The first passive school in The Netherlands for secondary education, where the energy usage of the building was reduced to a minimum. It is therefore no wonder the school won the Passive Building Award in 2017. The school also confirms to ‘Frisse Scholen klasse B’. At no point in the design were compromises made to the quality and usability of the building. Each of the three schools have their own corner, furnished as an education domain. Many forms of education are possible in these domains; closed instruction spaces, silent areas, group work areas or computer workdesks.
